‘Knock at the Cabin’ is a thrilling alternative to romance this season The Ledger

Knock at the Cabin 2023 ★★★½ . Watched Mar 04, 2023. Craig's review published on Letterboxd: Family, love and the apocalypse. #KnockAtTheCabin is a pretty solid adaptation of a very well written and intense novel by #PaulTremblay... Okay, imma rant for a second. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this movie, but unfortunately there were a couple of small things that stopped this from being a perfect viewing experience for me. I wish M. Night had more trust in his audience to interpret the messages behind the film instead of him having to spell everything out to us as the movie progresses. I also wish that, instead of sitting.

Didn't review this one, but did talk to herr director for a profile. He's got a movie to sell of course but I found myself (to paraphrase DH Lawrence) trusting the tale *via*the teller- trust and tales being foregrounded even more than usual. Of all the entry points into this locked-down, closed-in movie (Hitchcockian tautness being a byproduct of the material rather than Night's true.. The movie is effectively a metaphor for the unfair lengths and hurdles queer people have to go to belong in modern society. It's very much aware and honest about the fact that the choice is incredibly unfair and not right, and the most important point of the ending is that it's not done for the rest of the word. It's done for Wen and Andrew.
